Introduction to Fly Fishing for Bass in the Texas Hill Country

River Bass 101 

Action Angler & Castell Guide Service (CGS) are partnering for a half day group instruction on the.  This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of fly casting and fishing for bass in the Texas Hill Country.


In this class, you will learn about:

  • Overhead and false casting.

  • Double Haul

  • Precise placement of flies to structure

  • Reading Structure.

  • Effective flies for bass fishing in the Texas Hill Country

  • Knots for bass fishing

  • Rigging for bass

  • WE WILL FISH!


This is a small class setting that will allow for individualized instruction as well as group interaction that we have found to be an effective and and economical way to learn about fishing for rainbow trout on the Guadalupe River below Canyon Dam.
