Action Angler & Outdoor Center is the only stream side fly shop and guide service in Texas. Our fly fishing equipment is specialized for the hill country angler. We offer an extensive trout, bass, and panfish fly selection. Our store front is seasonal, and hours of operation vary upon demand. During our off season (June - October) the store front hours are limited. Guides and gear are still available online, by phone, or email during the toob hatch months. Please call 830-708-3474 in advance to check hours, or make an appointment.

American Express is not accepted for in-store purchases.
We offer an intro to fly fishing course, casting lessons, float trips (fishing or nature tour) on various Texas rivers, and Colorado rivers. Our Texas river trips run October to June, and Colorado trips run June to October. (please inquire by email or phone about trips or lessons not listed on our online booking system) Saturday is the busiest fishing day of the week. Weekday and Sunday trips on the Guadalupe from Mid November to April are ideal. Property along our hill country rivers are mostly private, but the river and river bottom is public. This makes float trips the preferred way to access most sections of the river.
The rates for guided trips vary according to location and length of trip. Half day trips start at $325 and prices are the same for 1 or 2 people. Please check out our online booking system for available dates. A box lunch, and drinks are included on full day trips. Fly rods are available, wader rental and flies are included in the trip cost.
Waders and boots are available for rental for $30 per person a day (Day = shop hours 8am to 5pm, not 24 hours). Up to 2 rental fees can be used towards the purchase of new waders. Damaged waders and boots, not related to normal wear, will result in a purchase of damaged waders/boots minus rental fee.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation within 14 days of arrival date will result in full payment of reservation. Special situations & emergencies can and will be taken into consideration. Deposits and payments may be applied to a later date.
The trip destination may change due to weather, restriction, or fishing pressure. That change will be made at the discretion of the angler and the Action Angler Fly Shop.
